How does acupuncture work for insomnia?
I have a terrible insomnia problem and nothing seems to be working. So I thought I’d give acupuncture a chance. I just don’t understand how this will work for insomnia. Some info would be great! I’m on my last legs trying to sleep. ![]()

Chinese Medicine diagnoses a patient based on information communicated by that patient, pulse diagnostics, tongue presentation, and other observational data.
The diagnosis is given as an overall pattern of imbalance according to Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture points are then selected that will correct the imbalance. So if a pattern of stagnate Qi and Blood presents, we select points that influence the movement of Qi and Blood. If the pattern were to present as a deficiency in one of the Chinese Medicine body systems, we select points that stimulate the revitalization of that body system.
For insomnia I have found that Chinese herbal medicine in conjunction with Acupuncture treatment to offer the best, quickest resolutions.
